Worried by the increasing rate of fatal road crashes across the country, the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi

has directed his personnel to clamp down on drivers who do not install speed limiting devices alongside those without a valid license.

The statement noted that the motive is to restore sanity to the nation’s highways following rising cases of fatalities caused by overspeeding and unlicensed drivers. The statement further noted that records of road traffic crash across the country as collated by the Corps since the beginning of the year indicated that over 50% of such crashes were attributed to speed violations, saying during clampdown operations, all motorists found to have violated the rules would be subjected to the fullest sanctions as provided by the law.
