Immediate past president of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, has been convicted of money laundering and handed a two-year jail term, Aljazeera reported on Saturday, December 14.The 75-year-old was forced out of the seat after spending 30 years in power.

The report said the charges had to do with suitcases filled with multiple currencies worth more than $130 million and found in the former president's house. The former president was brought to court on Saturday, December 14, for illegal possession of foreign currency.
