The minister issued the warning at the official unveiling of the 2024 Annual Flood Outlook in Abuja. According to him, unlike the previous exercise, the government has earmarked sufficient funds for the dredging of all-flash points and high-risk flood canals and rivers, especially in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

“The aforementioned changes, coupled with the devaluation of the naira and sharp increase in the exchange rate of dollar to naira, distorted major variables and assumptions upon which the approval of Mr Governor was granted,” Mr Olatunbosun said.
