Flood: NEMA warns 102 local govts

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has sent a strong warning to 102 local government areas in 28 States.

He said the Local Governments are in the higher risk of being devastated by flood due to their closeness to water ways in the country. “While 275 Local Government Areas in the 36 States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory fall within the moderately probable flood risk areas, the remaining 397 Local Government areas fall within the low probable flood risk areas”2023: Northern APC members are laughing at Tinubu - Adeyanju

He, however, stated that the annual occurrence of flood have continued to threaten food production in the country.
