He said no fewer than 5,000 houses were destroyed as a result of the flood in the area.Jili appealed to the local government areas and Ministry for Rural and Community Development to reintroduce the self-help groups in communities to embark on consistent clearance of the drainage channels to avoid blockage and ensure free flow of water.
“We were in Dambatta LGA to sympathise with the victims and also donate relief items. We donated about 24 items to ameliorate the effect of the disaster,” Jili said.
