One person has died while over 100 houses were destroyed in Dindima village in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, following flooding that swept through the area rendering many homeless.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed visited Dindima village and Liman Katagum on Tuesday for an on-the-spot assessment of the areas.

The Governor, who was represented by the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleman, was accompanied by the Secretary to the state government, Mohammed Baba and Chief of Staff. Abubakar Kari.He commiserated with the victims calling on them to accept it as the will of God. He promised that the state government will bring succour to the victims affected by the floods.

The Governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to expedite action in ensuring the welfare of the victims by providingWhile at Dindima, the Village Head, Sale Ubandoma, told the delegation that over 100 houses and farmlands were destroyed.The delegation was also at Liman Katagum where a bridge linking over twenty communities was cut off.

The governor promised that the bridge will be fixed soon so that the communities will continue with their daily activities.
