The former commander of a vigilance group, OSPAC, in Igwuruta, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Promise Nnawale, who was declared wanted for allegedly killing two indigenes, has been arrested.
The police had said Nnawale was the prime suspect in the alleged murder of the two victims, Princewill Ogbonda and Peter Opurum, who were killed in 2020. The younger brother of the late Princewill, Goodluck Ogbonda, who confirmed the arrest to journalists in Port-Harcourt, lauded the police and other security agencies for their role in the arrest.Goodluck stated, “He had been on the run since this incident on November 21, 2020.
“He was arrested at Igwuruta, right at the OSPAC office where he was sitting and relaxing. Even at the point of arrest, he struggled with them, but the security men overpowered him and took him to the State Criminal and Investigation Department.” He explained that since the killing happened, no family member knew where his late brother was buried.Read Also
