Infantino took to his social media to condemn such behaviour and urged authorities to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. He emphasised the need for football players' safety and stated that violence, both on and off the pitch, has no place in football or the broader society.
Following Fenerbahce's 3-2 victory, a group of Trabzonspor fans invaded the field, leading to altercations between players from both teams, including Michy Batshuayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Jayden Oosterwolde. Infantino's statement strongly condemned the actions of these fans and called for a thorough investigation.
