FG inaugurates panel to recover N5tn AMCON debts Nigeria

An Inter-Agency Committee to recover the N5trn debts owed the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria has been inaugurated by the Federal Government.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo inaugurated the committee in Abuja, a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, said on Tuesday. Members of the committee include heads and representatives of agencies such as AMCON; the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit; the ICPC; Central Bank of Nigeria; Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation; and the Federal Ministry of Justice.

“One of the terms of reference is for the committee to prepare a report, giving us a sense of what the timelines will be”, the VP told the members. “About 67 per cent of the outstanding N5tn debt is said to be owed by just 20 individuals/entities,” the statement added.

cheap, mischievous headlines again. This time around, they refuse to include the name of Osinbajo in the headline because it is a credit to his name.

Good move . We will surely get there..

Vice President, ProfOsinbajo today, inaugurated an Inter-Agency Committee to recover the N5trn debts owed the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

And you successfully skipped out on your headline, the name of the man who inaugurated the panel! Now i imagine if it were a scandal related news, how would you have reported this? 🤠

This shows both the president and the Vice president are working. Next level issa goal

For your information , it was the Vice President, Osinbajo that inaugurated the panel. Why find it so difficult to give credit to him?

This is to show that Buhari/Osinbajo is really working and more debt will soon be recovered

This is a good job by the federal government, more debts to be recovered..
