Following the current investigation of the Accountant-General of the Federation , Alhaji Ahmed Idris by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged financial impropriety, the federal government has appointed Mr. Anamekwe Chukwunyere Nwabuoku to oversee the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation .
A statement released by Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, Special Adviser, Media & Communications, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, said Nwabuoku was born October 15, 1962 to the family of Mr. Robert O. Anamekwe in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Management and Technology , Enugu and a Master of Science in Financial Management from Commonwealth University, Belize.
Yes, somebody must be appointed to oversee AG office until the investigation is completed.Obviously, AGF is not likely to go back to that position.
