The family of St. Mathew Daniel has accused the Nigerian Army of encroaching on its 58 acres of land near the 56 Signal Command, Nigerian Army in the Mile 2 area along Ojo Road, Ajegunle, Lagos.

The family said some officers of the Nigerian Army were beginning to use the unlawfully acquired land for illegal bunkering through their proxies who remitted millions of naira to unnamed military officers on a monthly basis.that the army refused to release the land it forcibly took over despite the judgement of a court which the family got about 25 years ago.

Despite the order and the signing of the documents, Anjou said the army had refused to allow the family access to the land. The family said the army later filed an appeal against the judgement but they also applied to withdraw the same appeal.
