Unusually powerful sandstorms have left at least six people dead in Sao Paulo in recent weeks, local media said, as southeastern Brazil grapples with severe drought.

Scenes of huge orange dust clouds rumbling across the countryside — with winds of up to 100 kilometers an hour — have been seen at least three times since the end of September, terrifying residents in urban and rural areas of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais states.

“In some ways, they’re a common occurrence, but not of this magnitude that we’ve seen in 2021,” meteorologist Estael Sias of the Brazilian weather channel Metsul told AFP of the storms. Such storms, which can be frequent in desert regions, can reach thousands of meters into the sky, be up to 160 kilometers wide and last for several hours, according to Sias.

Why Nollywood Actor, Chiwetalu Agu was arrested – Army | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World NewsThe Nigerian Army says its troops have arrested one Chiwetalu Agu while allegedly inciting members of the public and soliciting for support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). I guess you are from South East you have not made any statement concerning Gumi and cos supporting terrorism and banditry. It is really shameful. This kind of behaviour, as far as I am concerned, is unacceptable.... We should learn to tolerate and accommodate one another. Expecting everyone to think and behave alike in a multiethnic society is an illusion. Let's stop deceiving ourselves: We are not one. How long do we have left to freely wear the Isiagu attire before we start being arrested?
