Development experts and members of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) have stressed that the enthronement of equity and equality would guarantee sustainable development in the polity.

They urged a review of Nigeria’s revenue-sharing formula for lack of equality as it is largely based on the landmass and not proportionate revenue potential or economic projections.

The guest speaker and Team Lead for the Facility for Oil Sector Transformation Project , Ademola Adigun, who led the call at the weekend, noted that Nigeria’s biggest problem in spite of being an oil-producing nation was lack of equity and or equality in the management of resources. He stressed the need for the operation of full federalism where there will be devolution of responsibilities across the federation backed by adequate resourcing.
