The Nigerian Embassy in Dublin, Ireland is collecting illegal €100 postal orders from Nigerians applying for passports which are shared and monetised by staff members for personal gains, SaharaReporters has learnt.
SaharaReporters learnt that the embassy used to request postal orders from passport applicants but that was stopped by former Ambassador to the European country, Dr Uzoma Emenike, who is now the Ambassador to the United States of America. "Since Dr Uzoma Emenike has been posted out from Ireland to the US now, the staff members are the ones requesting for postal orders from Nigerians who are applying for passports."They gave express warning that it should not be addressed to the Nigerian Embassy but should be left blank,” one of the sources said.
"However, in the memo, they cleverly decided not to mention who to address the postal order to. They will reject it if addressed to the Nigerian Embassy. We understand that they share the postal orders among themselves on weekends for them to cash out.” The memo dated September 2021, however, added that such applications must come with a €100 postal order.

This is so true. The staff of the Nigeria Embassy is the worst I have ever seen. I have many friends who were forced to bring blank postal order before their passport could be released.

In Vienna Austria the are collecting 50euro.
Even here in UAE 🇦🇪 is bout 50k the do add for no reason ... and will delay your passport for like 2 month before you receive it or even more than... really really painful...

Nigerians around the world should be able to organize themselves and tackle these corrupt embassies staffs. We can't continue like this. Nigerians deserve Better.
It’s not just Ireland. In the UK you have to buy £100 postal order - put the Nigeria high commission as the beneficiary and also buy a special delivery envelope. After that you will go and queue up on the long queue. It’s a special ‘Nigerian treatment’ outside of Nigeria.

In Abudhabi Embassy they collect extra 30k they call it Adim fee that's after paying $106 for your passport renewal Nigeria which way wahala home and abroad
