AFPFormer Slovakia defender Marian Cisovsky has died at 40 after battling the incurable amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for six years, his Czech club Viktoria Plzen said Sunday.
Cisovsky won three Slovak titles with Inter Bratislava and its successor Artmedia Petrzalka in 2000, 2001 and 2008. He helped Viktoria win the Czech league title in 2013, but retreated from the sport in 2014 as the disease hit.
