A former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja was on Wednesday absent at a meeting held by some Ibadan High Chiefs.Following the death of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, some High Chiefs in the community on Wednesday held a press conference to initiate the public on the way forward.joined his ancestorsSince his death, the question of who succeeds the Oba had become a subject of discussion in and around Ibadan, prompting the meeting and press conference by the Chiefs.
Others at the meeting were High Chief Abiodun Kola-Daisi, High Chief Eddy Oyewole Foko and High Chief Amidu Ajibade.He explained that he is the Prime Minister of the Olubadan-in-Council. “One, as a bonafide indigene of Ibadanland, there is a natural need for me to join you in commiserating with the family of the late Oba on the sudden home call of our Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso II the late Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“It is no longer news that our much-revered Kabiyesi, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso II the Olubadan of Ibadanland has joined his ancestors. It is my prayer that the Almighty God to whom all mortals shall return will accept his home call, forgive his sins and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. May his gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
