as the new manager of the club after agreements were concluded on Friday afternoon, with an official announcement scheduled for later today.

This comes four days after Everton fired former head coach, Frank Lampard, whose poor run of performances landed the Toffees in 19th place on the Premier League table fighting to exit relegation. The PUNCH had reported that former Leeds coach, Marcelo Bielsa was Everton first choice for Lampard’s replacement, with the latter travelling to London to discuss with Everton’s management.

However, terms could not be reached with the former Leeds boss, as Everton wanted a quick agreement but Bielsa wanted to hold on till the summer before assuming the role as manager. It was also gathered that Bielsa had reservations if the Everton squad could adapt to his high-energy playing style decrying the lack of pace in the squad.
