Taiwo Awoniyi has set a new record for Nigerian players in the Premier League after netting in Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 victory against Sheffield United on Friday night.
The former Union Berlin forward was also on target in Forest’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.The striker will now look to become the third African player to score in seven consecutive games when Nottingham Forest travel to Old Trafford on Saturday, August 26.Last season, Awoniyi finished as Forest top scorer with 10 goals for them to escape relegation.
