Enugu guber election, best in the country – CRPP vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

The political parties have therefore congratulated winner of the election, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and appealed to other contestants in the election to join hands with the Governor to move the state to a higher level of progress and advancement.Forty out of 42 political parties that participated in the governorship election belong to the coalition.

In a press briefing in Enugu on Tuesday, Coordinator of CRPP in the state, Mr. John Nwobodo, surrounded by other party chairmen and stalwarts, said they evaluated conduct of election in the state and were convinced that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, performed excellently. They said “In addition to being free, fair and transparent, the election was peaceful and meets the threshold of international best practices of democratic elections. The coalition notes the peaceful political environment before, during and after the election was possible due to the peace and security architecture put in place by Governor Ugwuanyi.

“We most heartily congratulate Governor of Enugu state and Governor-elect, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for landslide victory at the polls, winning a well deserved second term in office. The result couldn’t have been otherwise given the excellent performance of His Excellency in the four years he has been on the saddle.”The coalition also commended the security agencies for various roles they played in conduct of the election.

Subsequently, it called on INEC to consolidate on the gains recorded to improve the quality and integrity on elections in Nigeria.
