According to the statement, “The state governor, Sir Ben Ayade, has suspended the curfew in the state with effect from December 25, 2021. Consequently, movement is no longer restricted in the state at any time.” While the curfew lasted, it was reviewed several times and was relaxed to midnight some months ago before the total suspension of restriction of movement on Christmas Day .protest turned violent, leading to looting and destruction of private and public property in October 2020.
