The organised labour unions also shut down the offices of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and the Transmission Company of Nigeria . “Also, the joint NEC of the NLC and TUC wrote the same to them to reverse and we issued a letter of which we are expecting them to reverse. Their failure to reverse it is the result of what we are implementing here this morning and across the nation.

“We know how we are suffering and everyone knows that Nigerians are facing hard times. Even with the increase, the supply is not there. Therefore we are calling on the Federal Government to immediately reverse it. Otherwise there is no going back, we will shut down the whole electricity supply system in this country,” he said.

Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa says International Oil Companies , particularly Shell Petroleum Development Company, have been responsible for the environmental degradation in the state.The resentment that greeted the Federal Government’s 0.5 per cent cybersecurity levy appears not to have abated, despite the reported quiet withdrawal of the policy.

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, who was reacting to the raging political crisis in the oil-rich state during a live programme, stated that the Nigerian leader has sounded it to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory , Nyesom Wike, and others that he would not back any party in the power struggle.
