Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar stated this shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared him of Saturday’s election.
Badaru, who is seeking a second term in office, polled the total of 810,933 votes as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Aminu Ibrahim Ringim scored 288,356 while the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Bashir Adamu Jumbo scored 32894 votes. While stating that seventy per cent villages in Jigawa state under his administration benefited from dividends of democracy, he assured that the second tenure is a consolidation of what was achieved in the first tenure.
