Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of Senator Olubunmi Adetunbi as Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor. A statement by Special Adviser to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, said the appointment of the two-term senator, who represented Ekiti North Senatorial District, takes immediate effect.

He said that Adetunmbi would not draw any salary as he has voluntarily opted to serve free of charge. Born on August 22, 1955, Senator Adetunmbi holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Agricultural Economics with extensive work experience in project financing, financial management, marketing and international development consulting.

He had stints with the Central Bank of Nigeria , Cadbury, USAID and DFID before his election as a senator in 2011. He was also a member of the Senate in the Seventh Assembly between 2011 and 2015 where he won an award of best Senator of the Year. Adetunmbi was elected on February 23, 2019, as the Senator representing Ekiti North against the incumbent, Senator Duro Faseyi.
