Greg Oko-Oboh, Head of COVID-19 vaccination team in Edo State, tells ADEYINKA ADEDIPE, that Edo’s position on vaccination is for public goodare insinuations among groups opposed to Edo State Government’s ‘Operation show your vaccination card’ that COVID-19 was ‘fabricated’ in China to reduce world population; what’s your take on this?

What do you make of anti-vaccine campaigner who says the effect of COVID-19 is not too serious in this part of the world considering how it has killed people in other parts of the globe? So if people don’t die in any of these hospitals of COVID-19, they will not be recorded as COVID-19 related deaths. There is huge under-reporting of COVID-19-related deaths. Many people are dying of it; nobody is paying attention but the government is really bothered about this. Let’s flip it the other way, the government may have been silent about it.

They also argued that pictures of those in hospital should be shown on television; does this not infringe on the right of the sufferers?
