suspending the former Speaker and Deputy on Thursday was as a result of the approval of their petition to President Muhammadu Buhari who directed the Attorney General of the Federation that there should be a proper House of Assembly in the state.
Recall that the fourteen members had reported Gov. Obaseki to President Buhari through a petition sometime last year when they claimed proper procedure was not followed before the inauguration. He said the AGF as the chief law officer in Nigeria only looked at what the law says concerning their petition side by side and came out with extant law that the fourteen lawmakers’ position was backed by the law and supported by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and based on that, the IG was advised to do the needful.
