Ebonyi State Government has sought the partnership of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the construction of a railway line in the state that would link Onitsha and Port Harcourt. Governor Francis Nwifuru made the request at The Tunisia-Africa Investment and Trade Conference in Tunis, Tunisia, where he met the delegation of the EBRD on the sidelines earlier on Wednesday.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is a group fostering the transition towards open market-oriented economies and promotion of private and entrepreneurial initiatives. The governor also sought EBRD's partnership for the revitalization of the moribund Nkalagu Cement Industry and other development projects.
