Making this known in a statement to mark Democracy Day on Monday, the lawmaker explained that the only way those who endured the scorching sun to cast their ballots can be rewarded is by giving them the benefits of democracy. “Nigeria should be celebrating more victories than calculating losses since the start of democracy 24 years ago while pushing political officeholders to focus more on education, infrastructure, and health.

“The entire country should commemorate June 12 since it is a significant historical date. Its celebration goes beyond remembering the winner of the 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola, but a clear reflection of the will and purpose of every typical Nigerian who took part in the election.” Adeyemi, who expressed worries over the country’s continuing sense of pessimism, said he is very positive about the future if Nigeria places more emphasis on women, youth empowerment and education because they are the future of every society.“The majority of Nigerians live in fear and poverty, therefore, we should extend the same desperation to grassroots government at the same time as we work to make our elections transparent and fair, he continued.
