The co-founder of The DAWN Project, Dr Pamela Ajayi, on Sunday, expressed the need to sensitise Nigerians to zero-emission and tree planting.

Ajayi, during a tree planting scheme at the Lufasi Park in Lagos, said tree planting would help to mitigate the effect of climate change.

“Carbon greenhouse gases and emissions are produced by fossil field activities of humans, which include fumes from cars, factories and generators. Trees help to absorb carbon dioxide and give us clean air. By planting more trees; we are able to absorb some of these toxic gases that have been produced and it helps to give us clean air.

Ajayi added that the DAWN project was in the process of giving out over 250 trees as part of its Naija trees for life initiative.
