February 24, 2023He stated this while speaking to Trust TV on issues surrounding the preparedness of INEC ahead of the Saturday polls and issues regarding elections in the country.

For the 2023 general elections, INEC has introduced a novel tool, Bimodal Voter Accreditation System . Commenting on the effectiveness of BVAS, the former INEC chairman commended the level of preparedness by the electoral body, but said he could not guarantee that the commission’s database can’t be hacked.

“But all over the world, databases are used and they are relatively safe to be used because people now deploy effective cyber-security systems.”“And INEC had said consistently, that knowing the political terrain, they have also got the best cyber security for the databases that they have. And we have to believe that they’ve done their best.

Jega election ringing matching Why are you saying it now after how many years you people has been preparing for this election, you just remember to say it today. Orgar go and hack what ever you want to hack ok

No country has immunity to hackers

No system is 100% foolproof. This is not news.

Must you open your mouth ?

With all the money and tech, you still give such excuse 🤔...

So what does it take to secure it that Nigeria can't afford?

Oga rest now is too late

And it’s today uncle decides to talk.. Basically telling his chosen one to hack it.. Let it be hacked fes..

Jega go and sleep; you were involved in election manipulation before.

Ok go and try na

We will no longer you sir! B/c you haven't responded to naja'atu's questions concerning your recently bought house

Which kind mumu kalk be this? Is CBN network or world bank network 100% secure and impregnable? So we should go back to analog because of fear?

We are all aware that absolute security does not exist. No organization has a 💯 security.

No system is 100% secure Mr former chairman

. I don't think there's any site that is 100% secure.

Hmmmmmm(yes all over the world), but inec should just trying to secure the resources

Naso make yna hear down now, make una no talk say na cheating ooooo.

Jega shot the f... up. Who needs your advice. Do you care about Nigeria? You are 100 % responsible for the situation we in today in Nigeria.

inecnigeria is not ready to conduct free and fair election 2mro bcoz even the process of employing adhoc staff has been hijacked by a certain political party. Those dt apply and under goes training are not the ones that are posted for the job. At Zaria LG MBuhari, inecnigeria,

In case patami should be monitored

Talking from experience.

There are incredible programmers around hire them

They are already telling you

I see problem

Hahaha Even our vote is not secured then Are u trying to tell us we should accept any Winner bcuz it will be hacked We just dy play for this country

You had/have enough budget to secure the database to highest possible level. Please there must be no stories.

This means Obi will win, they are already finding excuses

You people have ment and have been making stupid plans.

I work on database everyday. What do you mean by not secure ?

That means you make it eady to be hacked.

So you are not ashamed to speak to Nigerians,

Shame on them!

inecnigeria UN foreign body should come in now since Inec are not competent enough to give us free and fair election, let me warn you that rigging is not acceptable

Vote LP

Why now?

there is no system that is 100% free from vulnerability, what the man is saying is the reality .

This is exactly what I have be posting since a week now, INEC is the only sector that will destroy Saturday elections ineciscorrupt

So you now want hackers to hack it abi.

Oga be serious o, you have told us that your server are well protected, don't come now and start talking trash. We can never accept anything other than the votes cast on the various polling units

Where was he all this while to be coming out with this statement now?

Atiku and his corrupt and criminal mind

U are a fool by saying that and it was hacked when APC won the first election under your watch and u kept quiet .

The game is on. Why not raise the alarm before now?

Lol

These people are planning but God will shame them all.

If inec can use a authentication token to hash that auto update per hour using cryptography technology they should be good , unless inec is trying to leave there server porous for security breach.

If they hack the server then the election will be declared inconclusive, after all Mr Jega was the former INEC chairman he should stay clear from INEC issues

Does Jega think that INEC is still on the same page he left it years back. Mr Jega please grow up!

A country of 200m, a significant country in Africa can't source the security of its electoral database to a reputable global database security company! So exactly what are these “leaders” spending our oil money on? Stealing it! Big shame!!!

Bcoz they don’t want to spend money on tech…failed govt 🤡

Hold Atiku and PDP for any hack! inecnigeria

Is there a database that is 100% secure? Moreso, why didn't you share your knowledge discreetly to the current INEC chairman?

Very true even in the civilized world it is very rampant. I think INEC should have employed the best cybersecurity strategy to protect hackers from assessing it database, although kudos to INEC chairman, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

Why is Jega just saying this few hours to the Presidential elections?

U av started disappointing us... Av u already cooked up plans? Y allow ppl waste dia time n money wen u are telling us dat is d wrong pesin dat is not ur fault... I hav lost confidence in ineck

😏

See with all this news una Papa no fit rig this election

What sort of stupid complain is this?you have four years to prepare and deliver in one day and you never thought about the possibility of this happening, how did we even come to a level where anyone can just come out and make silly excuses. Four years, four years Haba

Na this man put us in this mess.

You are talking. That inecnigeria chairman is too confident for my liking

That’s how una hacked in Buhari.. E no go better for anyone that will try nonsense this time around

This act of incompetency

Same clown with headed the agency crying foul now.

As long as Peter Obi will win, no problem

What are you people planning to do? Prepare our minds to accept rigged election? Trying to cause problems in Nigeria or what? I am yet to wrap my head around all these shenanigans. We are waiting!

Can Jega stop this incitation pls? No system on earth is 100% secure. And any system can be hacked. The real issue will be if the database is found to be vulnerable and exploited. Besides, this is a known risk that should have some mitigation in place

E be like say dis man dey kolo, no use my future play 2maro

What nonsense is this?

Useless information at wrong time. It would have been a good indicator if raised long before now. When you were there why didn’t you raise it as a concern? Looking for relevance at

Shutup Joor.....

I-Voting is what Nigerians need not their BVAS Nonsense. I wrote about this before.. Check about Estonian I-Voting and see how secure it is... Meanwhile, is game on

Lol

Una wan rig this election abi? Why has it not been fixed before now?

😂

I sensor that because this ruling party is desperate to win. Sir what can Inec do to curb it?

They are afraid of BVAS.

Hmmm 🤔

Shut up chief rigger you put us on the mess we are in today

That's how he put us in this situation we're today

Make dem no just Try nonsense. INEC should give room for credible elections to hold

So what's the noise of Electronic voting all about?

This is absolutely true as INEC said a company base in France was attacking the INEC data base last month. Even when it can be hacked, it will be fete yes in just 3 minute.and the INEC data base is among the most secured in Africa. So no cause for alarm

Sir, you are right, what can Inec do since is the urgent

Re this ppl serious at all...

In other words INEC is not capable of this election? Well, let's see what happens in the next few days.

This is actually facts. After the meeting with Journalist in Rivers where they explained the Nature of BVAS and the question of who have access to the backend of the BVAS was raised. The question was not properly handled.

Are you INEC chairman? What's your business with this election... useless man... If this election is rigged, we will find you, and trust me wotowoto will only be the beginning...

Thunder fire you there. Did you tell us this when you chaired this commission?

That thing wey una dey find, una go really see am

SHAME!!!

Useless information

It would be reckless of him to say that

I'm a hand-work person, I understand what this kind of statement means. Whenever I get a job offer that I'm not certain I can handle, I let my client know of the worse case scenario before the result; just in case. The goal is to keep myself clean from any blame.. Naija funny🤣

Mr Man technology is improving every day by day

Waiting concern you? Na former you be let the present chair talk

What is going on here?!.

Any way we are waiting

why today, why havent u guys fix it, nonsense country this election will be rigged and already it is rigged already but lets see how it will end, God is with Nigeria not a sleeping God

Use Of Phones At Polling Booths On Election Day Is Criminal–Electoral Body, INEC | Sahara ReportersThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has described using mobile phones at the polling booths during Saturday’s election as a crime. The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ogun State, Niyi Ijalaye made this known on Wednesday while addressing journalists after a meeting with the heads of security agencies ahead of Saturday’s election. Ijalaye said voters would not be allowed to make calls or take pictures with their phones when they are casting their votes. He added that on no account will violence be tolerated. Is this contained in Electoral law? We need our phones so we can record and hold everyone accountable. It is always what will improve transparency that they will always clamp down on.... The use of firearm by non security forces and the use of money to lure voters + the right for the masses to beat whomsoever caught going against the above should also be passed into law Let me explain!! Phone is allowed on the electoral ground but not at the booth. The booth is that place u thumbprint ur choice of party. Understand the difference
