Nigeria's D'Tigress have been drawn against Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo in group D of the upcoming 2023 women’s Afrobasket championship

Nigeria’s D’Tigress have been drawn against Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo in Group D of the 2023 women’s Afrobasket championship.D’Tigress, the defending champions, will contend with the Leopards of DR Congo, three-time champions of Africa, and Egypt, two-time Afrobasket winners, in the preliminary stage of the continental competition.In Group A, Rwanda, and Angola will face the winner of the Zone 3 qualifying competition.

Cameroon and Mozambique are in Group B, alongside a yet-to-be-named wild card team while Senegal, Mali and Uganda will slug it out in Group C. The top team in each group will automatically qualify for the competition’s quarter-final. The next two teams will cross groups and compete in a playoff for a quarter-final position.The tournament is billed to hold at the Kigali Arena, Rwanda, from July 28 to August 6.

D’Tigress have won the last three editions of the Women’s Afrobasket and remain unbeaten in every African competition. The Nigerian senior women’s national basketball team won the 2017 trophy in Bamako and claimed their second title in Dakar, Senegal, in 2019, before completing the
