COVID-19: ‘We only boost patients immune system’

The Coordinator in charge of all the isolation and treatment centres in Oyo state, Professor Temitope Alonge has given a hints as to how patients who tested positive to the novel coronavirus are been treated at the various isolation centres in the state.

Alonge, a former Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital , Ibadan said medical and healthcare workers only seek to boost the immune system of patients who are brought into the facility in the fight against covid-19.He said there are many well known regime on boosting immunity but that Oyo state has stuck to a certain regime which has helped to increased the number of people recovering and testing negative while undergoing treatment at the state treatment centres.

He however urged the people to be ware that the COVID-19, even though a member of the virus family is different from the popular Human Immunodeficiency Virus in terms of manifestation and cure. He gave the hint while discharging eleven patients from the State Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, Ibadan on Friday.
