The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered the closure of nightclubs, bars and other social gatherings to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

He said following extensive consultations with various religious leaders,” we have directed immediately the suspension of gatherings of not more than 50 people. The governor advised Lagosians to avoid any form of gathering either academic, social, family, professional, political or religious. “We must learn from other examples in South Korea and Singapore. jidesanwoolu declare a lockdown proper...that’s the only effective way to combat/ control the virus and win the war. We’re already too late on this fight...but better late than never. Only those on essential duties should be allowed to move. StopTgeSpreadOfCovid19

Why are they shutting down institutions and other public places one at a time. Why not shut it all down for at least a 2 weeks and let's see how to slow this thing down.🙁🙁🙁🙁

Oya e don happen!! No more night out in lasgidi

This is great. At least to prevent its spread. Hope people would understand and respect it.

To those clubs etc who are not yielding the govts directives. If only you see first hand what this virus can do, you will rethink your action . Be safe Nigerians

I highly commend the govt for taking drastic steps to flatten the spread of the virus. To the media please emphasize on how people can , protect themselves and their loved ones keep safe.

At least we can still go to the cinemas to watch movies and hangout

Sad to say but the largest gathering in Lagos is transportation. Some busses are carrying 90 passengers both sitting and standing. If they don't lock down transportation and going to work then the spread will continue.

What about BRT

Bad market for If only the had a mobile app

APC..... Please don't fail us

I think all states in the federation should do same

Nigerians should not handle this pandemic with kid gloves

This might result to panic buying of green bottles oo 😂😂

vibesovavirus

Good decision and if any church or mosque dis obeys the law..they should be closed down..its same in england .or clubs are shut today

Clubs are operating on the island... just go into Lekki Phase One to be convinced Sometimes, I wonder why government directives are not respected in this part of the world

Work nko😩😩

So, one question - will Lagos State pay salaries of staff of these Bars & Nightclubs during this indefinite closure? How will private workers & entrepreneur survives whn you forced them to stay at home? followlasg, this will not hold without adequate compesations.

Pls don’t forget the train 🚊 transport also those dude are up thousand

Poor judgment like Oyo state PDP rally. No any form of gathering simple. One infected person can give 50 others and by extension the whole country.

Will this help
