Indigent citizens and the underprivileged in Ogun State have started to benefit from the palliatives provided by the government in partnership with the Nigerian Private Sector Coalition Against COVID- 19.

According to a statement on Wednesday, Governor Dapo Abiodun, at the inauguration of palliatives distribution in Abeokuta, said the food items would go round all the 20 local government areas of the state. Abiodun, who was represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Mr Femi Ogunbanwo, said CACOVID, a private sector initiative, was supporting the fight to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in the country.

He said, “A single beneficiary would get a pack containing 10 kilogrammes of rice, five kilogrammes of garri, five kilogrammes of sugar, one kilogrammes of salt, two cartons of noodles and one carton of pasta for their respective family.”
