COVID-19: Citizens comply as Okowa shut down activities in Delta

Major streets in the two cities were empty as markets, shops, shopping malls, business centres, cinemas, religious centres, drinking spots, and restaurantsOur correspondent who took to the streets to monitor the level of compliance reports that residents observed that 98% of residents complied with the shutdown order by the governor.

Areas visited included the busy Robson G Shopping plaza in Okumagba Avenue, Okere Market, Igbudu Market, Igbo Market, Ogbe-Ijoh Market, Effurun Market and other places.Some residents who spoke with DAILY POST commended the efforts of Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa for taking proactive steps towards curtailing the Coronavirus pandemic.They also called on the State Government to intensify security so that hoodlums will not take advantage of the stay at home order to wreak havoc in the State.

Our correspondent also reports that Ozoro, Oghara, Agbarho, Ughelli, Jeremiah, Udu, Obiaruku, Abraka, Oviorie, and Okpara, including Asaba, the Delta State capital were totally shut down.
