The Akwa Ibom State Government has insisted that nobody tested positive for coronavirus pandemic in the state.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, stated these during a briefing with journalists after a long-drawn meeting with the State Incident Management Committee at Government House Uyo on Thursday. “The Director General of National Centre for Disease Control was not aware of the reported result announcement.“All five reported positive test cases have been contacted and they have showed no COVID-19 symptoms.

“Owing to the irregularities observed in the testing and reporting procedure, Health Care Professionals in Akwa Ibom State have called for an immediate reconfirmation test on the five reported cases”.
