17 people have died as a result of complications from COVID-19 in the last six weeks in Kano State, the state’s COVID-19 Technical Response Team said.

He said Kano is experiencing the gradual increase of COVID-19 cases as over the last one week, the sample positivity rate increased to 12.7%.Shanono enumerated the challenges the state is currently facing in the fight against COVID-19 to include: poor public compliance to Infection Prevention and Control protocols, low risk perception, and poor cooperation by confirmed cases to self isolate themselves or even be taken to isolation facility.
