Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja, yesterday, rescheduled the trial of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra

[FILES] Men of the Nigeria State Secret Police escorts Indigenous People of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu , outside the Federal High Court during the trial of the IPOB leader who is facing a 7-count amended charge on alleged treasonable felony and terrorism at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria, on October 21, 2021.

Shuaib Labaran, who represented the Federal Government, told the court that a counter affidavit through which the government opposed the request had been filled and served on Kanu. Following the insistence, Nyako agreed to shift other cases slated for January 18 to accommodate the trial, which would last till January 19 and 20, 2022.

Labaran, however, challenged the argument on the ground that the motion was not ripe for hearing and that the business of the day was the motion for abridgement of time after which Nyako agreed with Labaran and rejected the bid to bring the motion forward.

Nnamdi Kanu still standing trial, idea of pardon premature – MalamiThe Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Wednesday, said it is premature to pardon Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the proscribed secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, adding that the IPOB leader is still standing trial for terrorism-related charges. The global family of IPOB doesn't in anyway plead for Pardon, whereas, IPOB are demanding for the unconditionally release of MaziNnamdiKanu because he committed no crime known to law. Standing trial but immediately he storms the Court, all of you will become dumb.. It's obvious that MaziNnamdiKanu doesn't have a case to answer. You vampires are just punishing him to fulfill the work of Lucifer. O Lord, come and rescue your children and heal our land 😭 Why then are the FG running away?
