has said the agency is working to improve testing capacity by shipping a further round of test kits to countries in sub-Saharan Africa even as some countries are relaxing lock downs.

“Now as some countries begin to ease lock downs, it is important to maintain strong surveillance, case finding and testing among other control measures to halt the pandemic,” the report highlighted. The WHO report revealed that in the week of April 13, cases increased by 113 per cent in Central Africa and 42 per cent in West Africa.

Furthermore, the initial analysis indicated that countries which implemented partial and targeted lock downs along with effective public health measures may have been even more effective at slowing down the virus.

Coronavirus: How easing of lockdown will be implemented - PTFThe Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, has explained how the easing of lockdown in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state will be implemented. May God help us All the states are getting high in numbers and you're easing lockdown. Must we copy everything blindly ? What's your rationale? What do you hope to achieve? There should be no easing of the lockdown. The numbers are flying higher. Easing the lockdown will cause further spread of this virus. Just today at New York, 60,000 people died because or the virus. This is no joke. PTF please don't make this mistake.
