The death toll from the virus has hit 709, as 20 new deaths were reported on Friday. The fatality rate from the virus in Nigeria is about 2.2 per cent. Meanwhile, over one third of those infected have recovered and have been discharged.
The other five states with the highest number of confirmed cases are: FCT, Oyo, Edo, Delta and Rivers State. Since the outbreak of the disease in Nigeria in February, a total of 175,656 samples have been tested.
