Controversy trails Shari’ah court’s N7,000 fine on rapists

The decision of an upper Shari’ah court sitting in Tudun Wada, Zaria, to sentence three rapists to one year imprisonment with an option of N7,000 fine has generated controversy and anxiety in the ancient city.

This Judge should be jailed for life to serve as a deterrence to others. I believe that the fight against corruption in the Judiciary should be extended to Sharia and other Customary Courts. Atrocities of Judges here are unspeakable.

Not enough. Should have been 700,000 or 10 years in prison.

Hmmmm the judge committed more evil than the rapist.
