The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Lagos State has provided an update on the crash that occurred Sunday night at Ojuelegba, inward the Stadium area

A 40ft containerized truck fell on a Toyota Camry with registration number KRD 822 FZ.

A statement by Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, FRSC Public Education Officer said all four occupants of the car were evacuated alive.The rescue operation involved the FRSC, LASEMA, Army, Police and LASTMA. FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Olusegun Ogungbemide warned owners of articulated vehicles to maintain minimum safety standards or stay off the road.

Ogungbemide noted that the crash would have been more devastating if the container was properly twist locked.He also commended the Lagos government for providing orescue equipment that made the operations seamless.

...roads. Institute new and better ways to which containers could be transported thru city roads OR have owners evacuate contents and transport same with smaller load bearing trucks These accidents are toooo much to be allowed to continue based on 'minimum safety standards'!

There's nothing like 'advise veh owners to maintain minimum safety standards'!!! Most if these articulated vehs have long served their minimum safety years. The owners cannot further maintain them. They will not spend the money Solution? Ban container bearing vehs on Lagos...
