Diebiri/Batan communities in Warri South-West council area of Delta state have reportedly shutdown the Odidi and Batan flow stations over nonpayments of bills owed the communities.

An opinion leader in the area, Chief Samson Mamamu, had in a statement on Wednesday, issued another 48 hours deadline to Neconde Energy to pay monies owed indigenous contractors, otherwise the communities will take “action”. According to the letters, NPDC should take over management of the facility until a “competent and reliable” company comes along.In Odidi community, women were said to have been dressed in black clothing to protest under the heavy downpour on Saturday.

“All the agreements reached with the company, promises made by the company nothing has been met,” Godwin said.
