The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has harped on the need for the media to be responsive and patriotic on issues relating to national security.

Speaking at a workshop themed ‘Conflict Sensitive Communication, Patriotism and Positive Media Reportage in a Joint Environment’, Faruk charged the media on positive reportage, assuring them of increased synergy with the army.

He was represented at the event by the General officer Commanding 3 Division, Jos, who doubles as the Commander, Operation Safe Haven , Maj-Gen. Ibrahim Ali. The COAS said the workshop provided a veritable platform for special interaction between officers of the directorate and seasoned media and information experts.
