The W. E. B. Du Bois Medal is Harvard's highest honour in African and African American studies.................

Award-winning Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie and six other persons will receive Harvard University’s W.E.B. Du Bois Medal on 6 October.

Past recipients include the late celebrated Nigerian author Chinua Achebe , Muhammad Ali , Maya Angelou , Oprah Winfrey 2014), Steven Spielberg and LL Cool J . Chimamanda is also a fashion and beauty icon and continuously promotes Nigerian designers, including through her ‘Wear Nigerian’ initiative.
