Mohammed Umar, the Secretary to the Galadiman Kano, Abbas Sanusi, officially announced the suspension late Tuesday in Kano.
According to Umar, the Council decided to suspend the embattled ward head, pending the outcome of investigations by the National Agency for the Prohibition and Trafficking in Persons. The Acting Zonal Commandant in Kano, Shehu Umar, confirmed in Kano on Monday that the agency was probing Mohammed, alongside the Fagge Hisbah Commander, Jamiu Yusuf, over the illegal adoption and sale of the one-year-old baby boy to one Mrs Loveth.
“The case is in-between the sale of baby and illegal adoption. What happened was that when the matter was reported here, we tried to invite the suspects and when we commenced our investigations, we were told that Loveth travelled to Imo State to see her people.”All rights reserved.
