The sporting director of German Bundesliga side, Mainz, Christian Heidel, has slammed Chelsea over their decision to sack Thomas Tuchel and appoint Graham

Heidel said that Chelsea owners, led by Todd Boehly ‘have no idea about football’.

Tuchel was sacked on Saturday following the Blues seemingly poor start to the new campaign that saw them fell to lowly-rated Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in the opening Champions League group game. Hiedel and Tuchel worked extensively together during their time with Mainz and the German has criticised the west London side for their decision.“With Thomas it came out of the blue,” Hiedel told BILD.

‘‘Someone who has no idea about football probably thought that sixth place wasn’t good enough for him and said, ‘then let’s try another coach’.” “After only six games, I can’t think of any other reason. But Chelsea will bitterly regret this decision – they won’t get such a good coach again so quickly.”
