CBN froze my account for receiving N30,000 protest donation —EndSARS campaigner

Ade Adesomoju, Abuja

The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, had on November 4, 2020, obtained an ex parte order freezing the #EndSARS campaigners’ bank accounts for 90 days. Mr Marshal Abubakar, a lawyer in the law firm of Mr Femi Falana , stated in the further affidavit he deposed to on behalf of the applicants that Bibi informed him that she made several futile attempts to carry out transactions on her bank account on October 15 and 16, 2020.

“That the said agent confirmed that her account was frozen because she received a donation of N30,000.00 towards organising and buying food for Nigerians who were demanding an end to police brutality hashtagged #ENDSARS. Falana, who represents 19 of the 20 applicants, on Wednesday, urged the court to lift the restriction placed on their accounts.

Protest donations?

CBN now blocks accounts receiving minimum wage. Pathetic.

But that's just minimum wage

This is funny. Do people need donations of money in order to stage protests?

Is Nigeria working for you? she is beautiful courageous cares less of the geriatric and spurious characters in Aso Rock asked questions you have been afraid to ask, least expected of you is to dissipate the message in this video.

When you have lawyers that would eagerly argue rubbish, your jurisprudence becomes limited to the age of the Flintstones. Was it lawful and legal for cenbank to direct a freeze of accounts without court order? Should probable cause not be the standard for the order of court?
