Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has stated that failure by his side to convert their chances cost them victory against Etoile Filante.

The Pride of Rivers played out a goalless draw against the Burkinabes in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second-round tie at the Stade Municipal Stadium, Yamoussoukro, on Sunday night.He expressed confidence that the players will secure the qualification to the group stage. “It was a great performance from the players, to leave Yamoussoukro without conceding,” Egunma said in his post-match interview.“We failed to convert our chances but we will go back and work on that so as to have the chance to progress to the group stage of the competition.”

The second leg will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, on 1st October 2023.
