The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , has described the death of Brig.-Gen. Dzarma Zirkursu as a tragic loss to the country.
The president while acknowledging the supreme sacrifice made by the deceased said, “Everything they did is for us to be able to sleep with our two eyes closed. “Truly, our country is in deep mourning because these men were dedicated men, were resourceful men, were gallant men.” He said, “It is the desire of the president to bequeath to the future generation of Nigerians a secure and safe place in which each and every child will be able to ventilate their aspirations and live in peace and tranquility.”Apart from Zirkushu, 50, others interred included Major Luka Barde, 47; Lt. Abubakar Usman, 29; Private Salihu Mohammed, 23; Private Danyaro Umar, 28; Simon Solomon, 23; Abubakar Yusuf, 25 and Private Oladejo Victor.
