The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , on Monday, described the departed ex-Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Prof. Nimi Briggs, as an academic who lived for the good of the country and humanity. ⁣⁣He also condoled with his surviving family, urging them to keep the professor emeritus’ legacy alive.

⁣⁣Until his death, he was the 5th Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Abakaliki, Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa and Chairman, Committee of Pro Chancellors of Nigerian Universities. ⁣⁣The President “shares the pain of loss with family, friends and associates of the 5th Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Prof. Nimi Briggs, 79, extending sympathy to the academia and Nigeria Medical,” Adesina stated.
