The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , on Monday, described the departed ex-Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Prof. Nimi Briggs, as an academic who lived for the good of the country and humanity. He also condoled with his surviving family, urging them to keep the professor emeritus’ legacy alive.
Until his death, he was the 5th Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Abakaliki, Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa and Chairman, Committee of Pro Chancellors of Nigerian Universities. The President “shares the pain of loss with family, friends and associates of the 5th Vice Chancellor of University of Port-Harcourt, Prof. Nimi Briggs, 79, extending sympathy to the academia and Nigeria Medical,” Adesina stated.
